Our school motto is; "expecting the best."  I encourage all staff and students to challenge themselves to be the best at whatever the task may be.  Setting term goals is an exercise all students can practice throughout the year to ensure personal growth. Individual goals can be found in the student agenda books.  We believe students should take responsibility for making appropriate choices with respect to their learning, academic success, and personal behaviours.  Both staff and parents must work together to ensure a safe, productive and supportive learning environment is achieved at school and home.

Royal Oak Middle School, situated in the heart of the Saanich Community, is home to 600 students and 65 staff. In the evening, learning continues with a large number of community activities and classes occurring throughout the building. At all times of day, the school encapsulates a dynamic learning environment that celebrates the diversity found within our community, and within our school.

As a new member of the Royal Oak team, I look forward to becoming a part of this dynamic community. I bring with me several years in the middle school environment, and experience in administration, counselling, and student services. I feel fortunate to be at Royal Oak Middle School while Ms. Hunter is on her maternity leave, and to be a part of a warm, caring, and vibrant school community.
